Negima becomes a live action drama

Ken Akamatsu’s highly successful Mahou Sensei Negima manga has evolved into numerous adaptations – the original anime, followed by a spin-off manga (Negima!?) with its own anime adaptation – and it has now been adapted into a live-action drama series.

The series started in October this year, and is entitled Negima!! (note the double exclamation). It’s slated to have 26 episodes, and the cast I’ll be posting here since the original site is in Japanese. The main protagonist, Negi, is portrayed by 13-year-old actress Kashiwa Yukina.

To give you a brief preview of what the series will look like, I’ve included this trailer I’ve found on YouTube – it’s in Japanese unfortunately – I’ll post a subtitled version as soon as I can find one:

[EDIT: Video has been removed from YouTube]

Given how much I enjoyed the live-action version of GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) – I’m looking forward to getting my paws on this one.
