Cape Town Cosplay Event

The as yet unnamed mascot
Following the picnic, I believe it is fair to say that it was quite a success.
The weather tried to play nasty but failed because Table Mountain, in all fairness, wanted to see too, and blocked the wind, so we were treated to a day that was pretty much perfect for cosplaying, picnicking (<- is that even a word? Dibs if it’s not – I’m claiming it!!) and just generally enjoying the company of people I can only describe as being quite awesome.
My final report of the event is still on the way, but in the meantime I’m posting up an album of the photos I can at least claim credit for – even though I was suffering from considerable lens-envy for a majority of the day.
Full credit for the organisation of the picnic goes to Sasha Perdigao and Genevieve “KomboKitten” Lesch, as well as Elza Grobler who came up with the final design and drawing of the incredibly cute mascot here on the left. But in the end, a lot of people provided input, so we can probably all give ourselves a pat on the back.
Please drop me a message if you think I left out any names that should be mentioned.
Slideshow below, but if you prefer not to have our lives flashing before your eyes, you can visit the Animated Meanderings Facebook page’s album, or you can visit the Cape Town Cosplay Facebook Group’s Album, in which you’ll be able to see the work of the other photographers as well.
