One of the girls working in the office with me happens to be an artist as well as a keen fan of anime (which is a great combination in my book), and happily agreed to create/design a character to represent Animated Meanderings as a mascot.

So, after a few weeks of waiting (she wasn’t in a rush, and since she was doing it in her own personal time I wasn’t going to rush her), we’ve finally got our character.

And here she is:

All give a glorious welcome to … well … here’s the rub. She doesn’t have a name yet. And while I have a few names in mind, I’d really like to hear some suggestions from those of you following this blog … or anyone who just randomly stumbles across this post.

Which brings me to my next point. Animated Meanderings has now also got a Fan Page on Facebook – for the time being you can visit this link to see – some extra followers will be appreciated. Since I’m still far away from actually building some forums using the discussion boards there will be a useful way for me to interact with you all. And as such – there is a topic for name suggestions there – so go suggest a name for her.

You can either go and post in the topic or pop some suggestions into the comments below, I’ll update you all when a name is finally chosen. And of course, if anybody feels like submitting some alternative or derivative pics of our girl, feel free to use the albums.

Just a few guidelines:

1. In keeping with the overall theme of this blog – the name should be Japanese
2. Our character seems to be the shy, quiet type – so consider names that suit the image
