Sakura Chiyo has a crush, but when she decides to confess he mistakes her for a fan, and gives her an autograph - as it happens, he's a published mangaka operating under a pen-name. A series of misunderstandings results in Chiyo becoming one of Nozaki's assistants. As his assistant, she befriends a number of people in her school, while continuing to help Nozaki with his manga and hoping that he will eventually notice her feelings for him.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun aired for 12 episodes in the Summer 2014 season and is based on a manga that started serialisation in 2011.
