Genre: Action, Fantasy
Release date: 4 October 2014
Synopsis: When the King’s adviser starts a witch hunt, the Makai Knights and Makai Priests, protectors of the people are endangered. When a condemned Makai Priest gives birth, the child is rescued by his father, a Makai Knight, and grows up without knowing anything about his mother, but he inherits the legendary Gold Armour.
In the meantime, the king has grown ill, the adviser has taken control of the country, and the Prince is searching for the Gold Knight, who he believes can help him retake his country.
As this now happens to be the third series I preview that carries the theme of kingdom lost to some internal evil, I’m tempted to dub this season the season of “Can I have my kingdom back now, please?”.
The series is based on a Tokusatsu show, which is a live-action genre that heavily relies on special effects – like Kamen Riders or Ultraman … I suppose the closest Western approximation I can think of would be the Power Rangers.
Nothing about the series immediately draws my interest, and I doubt I’ll be picking it up, but the level of action should be appealing to many.
