|Synopsis: A young girl by the name of Kohina summons a Kokkuri-san, a low-ranking ghost. While he initially intends to haunt her, he soon becomes worried about her terrible eating habits and decides to haunt her in order to protect her.|
For those of you who don’t know what Kokkuri is, it’s something similar to the Ouija-board – a game used for divining things by having a coin or something slide around a board and spelling out answers to life-defining questions such as whether the boy you like returns your feelings. Now, as far as I know, Ouija is used to speak to the dead? Not sure. With Kokkuri however, one of a group of spirits is responsible for moving the coin – either a fox, a tannuki or a tengu.
In Kohina’s case, she manages to summon the fox (foxes are notorious pranksters, apparently). So we end up with a situation where the prankster is actually worried enough to stick around and try and look after his intended target. And based on the PV, a couple of others will also turn up – I did see the tannuki in there after all.
Light-hearted comedy, with maybe a splash of romance, since the fox seems to be a bit of a bishie. Might be worth a look in the name of entertainment.
