|Synopsis: Following the strife-torn and tumultuous Universal Century, mankind enters a time of peace and prosperity, which is called the Regild Century. Bellri Zenam is a cadet in the Capital Guard, which protects Capital Tower, an orbital elevator. While on a training exercise with a maintenance mobile suit, he is attacked by a G-Self mobile suit. He manages to capture the G-Self, but the sight of the suit, as well as the pilot inside stirs a vague memory – even though he’s certain he’s seen neither of them before.|
I’ll be quite honest and say that I have never been a fan of the Gundam franchise; probably because it insists on turning wet-behind-the-ears rookies into a force to be reckoned with the minute they step into a cockpit for the first time. Not least, because on this occasion, a trainee captures a weaponised suit using a maintenance suit, thus continuing the grand tradition of a veteran pilot apparently not knowing how to pilot their own suit.
I could of course go on about all the things I dislike about the franchise, but that would take too long, and it’s probably quite clear by this time that I won’t be watching the series. I’m sure Gundam fans will get a huge kick out of it though.
Okay … so maybe I’m being a bit harsh. But try something new … like having and old granny kick ass or something …
