ARIA the Avvenire

Are we getting a new Aria series?

The Aria franchise is – without a doubt – one of my favourite slice-of-life out there, if not THE favourite. And now, rumour has it, another series may be on the way.

I say rumour, because the site that announced the new series was taken down shortly afterwards. According to the web-page, the series will be named Aria the Avvenire (Aria the Arrived) and forms part of the Blue Curtain Call Project which will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of the first Aria series (ARIA the Animation).

As part of the same project, all the original series will also be getting a Bluray box release, something that will no doubt thrill the collectors.

So right now, there isn’t much more information about this – but I would recommend keeping an eye on the following Twitter account, which is currently hidden from public, as well as the Facebook page that was linked from the teaser site (also currently unavailable). We also don’t know whether this will be a continuation of the series – the anime covered the manga up to the final chapter, after all – or if it will adapt some of the chapters from the manga that wasn’t covered.

In my mind, some visual queues from the image, as well as the title, would seem to suggest the former. Don’t take my word for it, though ;)

So there seems to be a good chance this might be happening – someone’s finger just accidentally clicked the upload button. But we’ll have to wait and see.
